How did you come to enter the world of roller derby?
It’s all Amstel’s fault; I was sitting on her patio at the Thermadore questioning her about this whole “derby” thing when she finally told me to “buy the sh*t and show up,” and that’s exactly what I did.
How did the name peanut come about?
You will have to refer to Destroya for this answer; I believe she knows its origin.
What has been your favorite Travel Team bout thus far?
I was the most proud of the way we played against Arch Rival at Brewhaha. A close second would have to be the way we played the majority of the first half against the Chicago Outfit.
If I used really bad grammatical errors, would you correct them?
See below
What are key strengths that you feel help you on the track?
I’m a team player & respond well to feedback.
What do you feel are some of your weaknesses?
I need to be stronger, faster, and smarter.
How much do you hate R.E.’s workouts?
I don’t like them on Tuesdays, really dislike them on Wednesdays, and I absolutely HATE them on Thursdays.
What travel team would you like to play this season?
I would really like to play Arch Rival again this season.
What do you feel are key components to a successful team?
Trust, communication, and commitment.
Do your students know that you play Roller Derby?
Nope
Would you say your (you’re) more of a dog preson (person) or a cat person?
I would have to say I’m a dog person. Unless Kenzie gets into the trash or has gas, then I am definitely a cat person.
Who would you say has been the most pivotal influence in your derby accomplishments?
The people who have been the most pivotal in my derby accomplishments are:
• Amstel Standin’ for convincing me to play derby
• E.Gargiulo & Coco Sparx for drafting me to the Hellbombers
• Hot Tail for taking me on Hazmat as a Rookie
• Salty for sticking through a year of being an All-Stars alternate with me
• All-Stars selection committee for making me a charter member last season
• Last but not least, all of my pals/teammates that keep me coming to practice
What do you like to do when you are not playing derby?
If I’m not playing derby I’m working, and if I’m not working I’m playing derby. Is there time for anything else?
Who are you inspired by?
My students and the children’s book “The Little Engine That Could.”
